I have worked as an early childhood educator for over 20 years, specialising in Kindergarten and Pre-Kinder. I have worked in various ministries in church both at a local and state level. I have been married for over 30 years and have 3 beautiful adult children, no grandchildren yet but I am hopeful. I love the outdoors, beaches, hiking and gardening. I enjoy travelling and experiencing new places. I am passionate about teaching young people and helping them realise their potential and that they are beautifully and wonderfully made by our awesome creator.
I've spent 10 years teaching all kinds of subjects at NCS and now also serve as a Youth and Young Adults Pastor at Legana Christian Church, where I love guiding and supporting young people in their faith. In my free time, I’m all about art—drawing, designing fabric, and working on stationery projects that showcase God’s creativity.
Prior to NCS I worked in various local and interstate schools, including remote Aboriginal communities, as well as overseas in the UK and Africa in a mission school. Meet Principals Past & Present

Alan was part of the visionary team who set up Community Christian Academy in 1996 with a few families in the Community Church building. Within a few years the school grew requiring the purchase the old Elphin Rise School in Newstead to accomodate the students. A firm believer in Christian Education and in the original vision, Alan saw that the existing ACE program would not fit into the new Australian Curriculum and began to make the change from ACE to the new Australian Curriculum, ensuring it was underpinned by Biblical truths. In 2013 he moved to WA.
Bronwyn stepped up from a teacher at CCA to accept the Principal Role after Alan. Several Building projects where completed under Bronwyn, most notably the Primary Learning Centre and the Administration Office. Bronwyn completed the full implementation of the Australian Curriculum into the school and to reflect that the name was changed to Newstead Christian School. Bronwyn also set the school's vision 'Equipped, Empowered to Serve'.
Di was another in-house promotion from maths teacher to the principal position after Bronwyn. An administration structure to manage curriculum, teaching, admin had been begun by Bronwyn and this was improved by Di with the school receiving a 5 year accreditation from the SRB in 2023. Di focused on embracing some core distinctives, such as outdoor learning/education. A passion of Di is Literacy and with the Premier's call for statewide improvements in 2024, NCS fully committed to a program of raising all students' literacy. Di is also known for her Staff Soup Thursdays.
